COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina board of trustees will hold an emergency meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday regarding a contractual matter with the athletics department, according to a meeting notice sent out by the board.
The only prominent vacant spot in the athletics department belongs to men’s basketball. The head coaching position was left open after former USC coach Dave Odom announced his retirement in late January. Local media outlets have speculated that USC is chasing after Western Kentucky coach Darrin Horn.
Horn has lead the Hilltoppers for five seasons that could be considered their best ever. During Horn’s tenure WKU amassed a record of 111-48, winning 20 games in four consecutive seasons for the first time.
