Editorial: Have you hugged a tree today?
The media is full of stories about “going green” and other environmentally friendly ideas. It’s easy to get tired of reading about ethanol, hybrids, carbon footprints and energy conservation. Some of the practices and concepts environmentalists come up with to help the earth seem pretty out there are often too expensive for the average college student. That shouldn’t put anyone off trying to help, or at least cause less harm to, the environment. There are numerous little steps students can take to contribute.
Editorial: Take chance to make your Pennsylvanian vote count
So between classes today, we ask that you ignore the naysayers, listen to the volunteers, get to the polls and make yourself heard. As a Pennsylvanian, it might be a long time before you get this primary chance again.
Column: Yale miscarriage ‘art’ exploits freedom of speech
In a guest column in Friday’s Yale Daily News, Shvarts claimed she had “performed repeated self-induced miscarriages” over the past year after a process of inseminating herself. She provides a detailed description of how she injected sperm in a way to “insure the possibility of fertilization” and later ingested abortifacients to induce miscarriages.
Editorial: Many Pa. student papers endorsed a candidate. We won’t.
