What drew you to the role?
Billy Bob Thornton: What drew me to the role? They gave me $50.7 million dollars.

AUSTIN, Texas — Seemingly coming out of nowhere in the wide world of film is the wild and hilarious “Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down.” Making a brief theatrical run on the festival circuit earlier this year, the film garnered enough attention to grab a few awards and is now out on DVD.

Unorthodox-sports comedies are nothing new. And in some cases, when Ben Stiller quips something about “Joanie loves Chachi” after pummeling an opponent with a dodgeball, it can be quite amusing. Sadly, such is not the case with “Balls of Fury,” a table-tennis tale that just misses the mark with too many unfunny one-liners and a dull plotline. But on the flip side, the film does star Mr. More Cowbell himself Christopher Walken. And he’s wearing a kimono. Can’t be that bad, right?

It was Harry Potter mania this summer with the final chapter of the young wizard’s life out in print and the fifth installment of the series hitting theaters. By far the darkest and gloomiest “Potter” film to date, “The Order of the Phoenix” still packs the same action as previous flicks, but fails to tie in the plot’s loose ends.
