Recently the transient population in Madison has been put in the spotlight for being a potential culprit of the tragic cold-blooded murders of Brittany Zimmermann and Joel Marino.

Boston University police records, along with those at private colleges across the state, could soon become public, if a bill approved Thursday by a legislative committee becomes law.

Following a string of campus shootings last year, universities and colleges across the nation have taken to examining the safety policies of their campus, including allowing students to carry concealed weapons on campus, a practice banned in most states.

This school should do everything it can to turn away as few qualified applicants as possible. But what it shouldn’t do is impose a cap that could actually diminish the student body’s overall quality.

The Centre County Democrats are reporting that the county has officially turned blue, and local activists are saying student registrations have made the difference.
