COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Maryland men’s basketball coach Gary Williams isn’t worried that none of the 10 players he brought in between 1997 and 2000 managed to graduate within six years. “I feel that these players have succeeded,” said Williams. “Their skill is basketball; you go to college to maximize whatever you’re good at.”

Georgetown will surely be paying big bucks to keep men’s basketball head coach John Thompson III on campus for the next six years. But they’re already beginning to make some of it back.
